Make Your Own Zine
A downloadable instructional booklet
So you read issue one, but you can't be satisfied with a one page game. I get it, I like to make things that feel substantial, too! Let's step it up a bit and make a zine. For the limited purposes of this publication, we're defining that word as follows:
Gameable zines are part of a longstanding tradition. Dungeons and Dragons got its start as a self-published enterprise in 1974. The boxed collections of three staple-bound booklets they released are now affectionately known as OD&D, or the Little Brown Books. It wasn’t the first TTRPG ever presented in zine format, but its longstanding cultural impact cannot be denied.
Maybe you want to follow in the footsteps of giants and make your own hardback. While I think that's a worthwhile goal I implore you: start small. Build up your skills. Invest some time in yourself. MAKE SOME ZINES FIRST.
